What does God want you to do?

Love God with all our heart, soul and might
“And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.” (Deuteronomy 6:5)
Obey God
“And Samuel said, ‘Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold to obey is better than sacrifice and to hearken than the fat of rams.'” (1 Samuel 15:22)
Delight in the law of the LORD
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.” (Psalm 1:1,2)
Do what is right
“O LORD, who shall sojourn in thy tent? Who shall dwell on thy holy hill? He who walks blamelessly, and does what is right, and speaks truth from his heart; who does not slander with his tongue, and does no evil to his friend, nor takes up a reproach against his neighbour; in whose eyes a reprobate is despised, but who honors those who fear the LORD; who swears to his own hurt and does not change; who does not put out his money at interest, and does not take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be moved.” (Psalm 15:1-5)
Confess sin
“I acknowledged my sin to thee, and I did not hide my iniquity; I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the LORD’; then thou didst forgive the guilt of my sin. Therefore let every one who is godly offer prayer to thee; at a time of distress, in the rush of great waters, they shall not reach him.” (Psalm 32:5,6)
Forgive one another
“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father also will forgive you; but if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” (Matthew 6:14,15)
Love one another
“Love one another with brotherly affection; outdo one another in showing honor.” (Romans 12:10)
No evil talk
“Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for edifying, as fits the occasion, that it may impart grace to those who hear.” (Ephesians 4:29)
Acknowledge Jesus before men
“So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven; but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 10:32,33)
The golden rule
“So whatever you wish that men would do to you, do so to them; for this is the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 7:12)
Be holy or separate
“But as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in all your conduct; since it is written ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy’.” (1 Peter 1:15,16)
Pursue peace
“Let us then pursue what makes for peace and mutual upbuilding.” (Romans 14:19)
Children obey parents
“Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.” (Colossians 3:20)
Parents teach children of God
“And these words which I command you this day shall be upon your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. And you shall bind them as a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” (Deuteronomy 6:6-9)
Trust God
“Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” (Philippians 4:6)
Pray
“Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perserverance, making supplication for the saints…” (Ephesians 6:18)
Walk humbly
“He has showed you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Matthew 7:12)
