Look up at the clouds…
Clouds are a familiar sight to everyone. Sometimes they cover the sky and blot out the sun. Sometimes they pile up into majestic towers. Sometimes they are just wisps like scattered ribbons. And of course, they contribute to incredible sunrises and sunsets.
When you see them, do you think of God?
Your covenant in a cloud,
Colours of a promise,
Everlasting faithfulness to all creation!

Your protection in a cloud,
Darkness and death on one side,
Light and life on the other.

Your presence in a cloud,
Hovering above your holy place,
Sheltering and guiding your people.

Your instruction falling as rain.

Your mercy in a cloud,
Blotting out transgressions,
Remembering them no more.

Your voice in a cloud,
Wrapped around your beloved son,
Listen to him!

Your son in a cloud,
Receiving him from sight,
Then bringing him back again.

Your people in a cloud,
From all nations and tongues,
Yourself with them forever and ever.
