Feeling lost? Scared? Anxious? We are here to help you!

No-one gets through life unscathed and we all deal with pain and suffering at different levels, in different ways and some people seem to have more than their share to deal with.

James 1:2 tells us: Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds. Rejoicing in your trials becomes easier when you can focus on the reason for your hope. It’s a hard concept to count it all joy when trials hit us. It’s then that we can dig deep into our reservoir of faith to get through. Trusting in God’s plans for the development of our spiritual maturity is one of my challenges.

Our God is good and His character doesn’t change, neither does His love for us. Psalm 100:5 reminds us of this: For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. We can trust Him in all things.

In Psalm 34:15 He promises to be near us: The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their cry. God’s love is tender towards us and we have to remember that He is always with us. Our family are grateful for His kindness and goodness even on days when we feel we appear lost in this mixed up world.

Proverbs 3:1-6: My son, do not forget my teaching but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity. Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

We need to take time to get to know God. Maybe you are not sure where to start – we can help with that. Maybe you need a Bible – we can help with that too. The more you read the Bible the more you will learn about God, His character and His plan for our world. We may feel we have everything in life but in reality without God we have nothing.

In the Old Testament Moses spoke boldly to God. Take a look at Exodus 33:12-23. God delivered the Israelites. Just as God’s hand was at work then it is at work in our lives now.  You may have never looked at the Bible. It may seem daunting to you as it is a big book with loads of pages.

The Bible teaches us Gods plan and He is with us every day. Hebrews 11:1: Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is a chapter about faith in action – take a look it offers great guidance.

In the book of Daniel 3:8-30 we read the account of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. They risked their lives in a fire for their faith by following and believing in God. God takes us on journeys to test our faith and help us grow. They may not seem like that at the time but when we sit and reflect we can see how far we have come.

Are there possible benefits of faith in your life you may ask? Belonging to a faith-based community provides a sense of family and can provide a source of support and an opportunity to be a support to others. Faith provides a moral compass with rules to live by and characteristics to strive for.  We seem to have been born yearning for a purpose and meaning for our lives and the Bible provides answers to many of these big questions. Faith can provide a “crutch” certainly if we are in need of one: hope, comfort and help through tough times. Faith can help to free us from anxiety and make us more content.
